Showdown opened in 1936, offering Montanans a family friendly atmosphere and amazing all natural snow.
The first poma lift was installed in 1957 up the center of the Big-7 T- Bar installed 1964 offering more skiable terrain and faster times to the top of the mountain.
In 1977 the triple chairlift was installed, expanding the capacity of skiers that Showdown could accomodate.
in 1998 the Lodge was over doubled in size and modernized to offer more space and amenities to skiers.
In 2006 Showdown installed a new beginner chair, called the Sluice Goose Caboose. This chair allows access to the beginner parts of the ski area, which makes it safer and more fun for everyone.
We also installed a Learning Conveyor called the "Little Belt Conveyor", which allows access for skiers and snowboarders to access the bunny hill, called "Sourdough Hill".
